Field Notes

Description:

The mona monkey has brown agouti fur with a white rump. Its tail and legs are black and the face is blue-grey with a dark stripe across the face. The mona monkey carries food in cheek pouches.

Habitat:

forest

Notes:

I spotted this at Baobeng Fiema monkey sancturay. Mona monkeys have always been protected at Baobeng-Fiema and are habituated to humans. They basically live together with black and white colobus in a plot of forest between the villages of Baobeng and Fiema, but often come into the villages.

Thanks Carol and asergio, even if it was a year ago. I had forgotten this was a sotd. This one must have went under the radar a bit and was before Noah really surged in popularity.
