Description:
Moderate sized frog 60mm (HB = Head/Body Length - simialr to SV length). Plain looking frog with light brown dorsal and pale ventral surfaces. Back is covered in small elongated ridges. There is a dark brown stripe running from nose tip to the eye and a finer dark stripe running from behind the eye over the tympanum. There is also pale striping to the legs. It occurs in plain, single striped and two striped varieties. This species is very similar to the New Guinea mainland species Platymantis p. papuensis but differs by its finger pads being the of a similar size to its toe pads.
Habitat:
Found at sea level in coastal secondary forest. The first 2 images show a plain variety, calling male about 1m off the ground. The third image shows a larger two striped variety female on the ground.
