Field Notes

Description:

It is a medium sized (Erebidae) moth with a wingspan of 25-30 mm. This moth has tan wings with two circle patterns on both forewings as well as 2 tan lines also on the forewings. The hindwings have white and black patterns as well as the whole backside.

Habitat:

Semi-urban, Fort Worth, Texas. Attracted to a 250 watt. Mercury vapor light trap on a clear night.

Notes:

The reported host plants happen to be Mesquites that seem to be very common around this area.
