Field Notes

Description:

Large and all black passerine bird, 60 to 65 cm in length, over 120 cm in wingspan. The largest of european Corvids, among the largest passerines in general. In flight, the shape of the tail, said "wedge-shaped", is distinctive characteristic.

Habitat:

Seen circling above Jura mountain range, eastern France.

Notes:

The only photo of Raven I have for the moment... with this bird, I must say I was extremely unlucky. I've been hoping and trying to catch it on photo for a couple of years now. Where we live at present, there are plenty of them... but! I saw it couple of times in Jura range, few times from the short distance... but did not have my camera with me. On the contrary, whenever I had my camera, birds were shy...
The game is still on...
