Description:
This is a small brown bee with black bands and orange yellowish rings on its abdomen. Hair covers their thorax and abdomen and they have dark brown legs.
Habitat:
They inhabit areas where food is easily found such as gardens, orchards, woodlands, and meadows.
Notes:
Fun Facts: 1. Honey bees have 5 eyes. Their compound eyes are the large eyes on the bees head and the three smaller eyes are called ocelli. These three eyes are located on top of the head and can only detect light. 2. The speed in which they fly is 20 mph. 3. The queen can lay up to 2,000 eggs per day.
