Field Notes

Description:

About 30cm total length (body + tail), green in colour but able to change colour, turning darker brown when threatened; The males have a crest on the neck not continued on the back, and it has a very long and thin tail.

Habitat:

Spotted during a morning walk at Kebun Raya Cibodas, a 80ha area above 1.400 metres high, mix of botanical park with big trees & palms and surrounded by rainforest at the foot of Gene volcano, Java - Indonesia. Distribution, Thailand, Peninsular malaysia, Singapore, Sumatra, Java, Borneo, Palawan and the Philippines.
