Description:
One of several native species known by the common name, Elephant's Foot. The large hairy leaves flat to the ground, the stem has few or no small leaves and divides into the flowering stalks. What looks like one average-sized flower is actually several small tubular blooms in a cluster.
Habitat:
Native to the southeastern United State.
Habitat - Low woods, ravines, streambanks, moist thickets, open woods.
Notes:
Spotted near the camping area of Johns Mountain Wildlife Management Area
