Field Notes

Description:

The pods of this tall and large-leaved milkweed were velvety and smooth. Either the plant's milky resin or bird droppings were dried around the base.

Habitat:

Milkweeds are found throughout the United States in open, sunny areas that may be either dry or swampy

Notes:

Spotted near the overlook of Johns Mountain Wildlife Management Area
