Field Notes

Description:

The Syntomini are a tribe of moths in the family Erebidae. The tribe was erected by Gottlieb August Wilhelm Herrich-Schäffer in 1846.

Habitat:

Spotted in an uncultivated rice field behind our house. It was decided that this field should not be planted with rice this season and it has been left fallow. With the onset of the rainy season in the last few weeks, it has turned into a kind of tropical meadow with a great variety of grasses and foliage. For me it is a little paradise; I can just point my camera in any direction and I am sure to get a photo of something interesting.
