Description:

large spider, maybe 5" legtip to legtip

Habitat:

rainforest mixed with open areas of grass

Notes:

saw this on top of a grassy hill surrounded by rainforest. typical habitat of Lope National Park.

It looks like some kind of Orb Weaver spider from the Araneidae Family.
good question! I'm not sure, didn't think to take a closer look
wow, striking colours and strange abdomen. What does it have in its mouth?
