Elton, no prob on the common name usage! I personally use them more frequently than scientific names (for better or worse). I just thought in this specific case some added info would help those who came across your spotting. Mentioning that it was an arachnid was definitely a helpful point to make. Welcome to the project and don't worry too much about using common names. The important this is that you continue to have fun sharing. Your contributions have been fantastic (loved the diatom by the way!) thus far and I know the community can't wait to see what you submit next.
I agree that common names can be misleading, I thought that perhaps mentioning that it was an arachnid would narrow it down. I am quite new to the project and will use common names with more discretion in the future. Thanks.
"daddly longlegs" is a slightly misleading name. Many people call both harvestmen and cellar spiders daddy longlegs so it can get confusing. Harvestmen are arachnids, but not actually spiders at all. Their seemingly joined body structure being a key difference. Although I can't pinpoint the species here, I would agree with gavatron that it is of the order Opiliones
