Description:

A couple of sperm whales spotted of the coast of Ponta Delgada, São Miguel Island, Azores, Portugal.

Fun fact 1: The whale in Moby Dick is a sperm whale.

Fun fact 2: Sperm whales have the largest brain of any creature known to have lived on Earth.

Habitat:

The sperm whales are have global distribution, prefering ice-free waters over 1,000 meters deep. Sperm whale "hot spots" include the Azores archipelago, north-eastern US coast and the Gulf of Mexico.
