Field Notes

Description:

Family Membracidae (1) brown to blackish in color; (2) abdomen appears to have ridges (may be segmented) connected to lateral spines

Habitat:

small garden with oregano, calamansi, some ferns and orchids at MSC Institute of Technology in San Gabriel, San Pablo CIty, Philippines - a semi-agricultural area

Notes:

I found this on an oregano leaf.

Thank you, Mark! :) Can you suggest a reference/ readings on Membracidae nymphs? I've personally not seen a treehopper, just planthoppers and a froghopper.
