Field Notes

Description:

Approximately 6 cm in length (from the head to the rear legs) with very long antennas and mild behavior (at least during the day). It remains motionless with its body and legs stretched, antennas collected back, as if it did not want to be noticed. With slow movements, only reacts if too bothered.

Habitat:

Brazil's interior, MG. It's relatively common where it was found and it prefers well shaded environments, most often on leaves where it remains motionless.

Notes:

This was found on the banana leaf. Initially I thought it could be a baby of Tettigoniidae, but the color is strange for that. I can be very wrong with the white balance of my small compact camera, but the fact is that this is more blue than would be expected for an Tettigoniidae. I don't know...
