The Green Scorpion

Scorpions glow when exposed to ultraviolet light.
They have compounds (sugars and waterproof waxes) covering their body that react to UV light and they can feel the reaction. This allows them to sense light on any part of their skin without seeing it, so if their body is hidden under leaf litter but their leg is sticking out, exposed for a predator to see, they will sense it and they will hide it.
The reaction with UV light makes them glow although the only time they are exposed to UV light is during the day when you can’t see them glowing.
I would love to know what the Scorpion feels when it is glowing, perhaps it is the same as when we feel success or love, perhaps we are really glowing in these moments but like the scorpions we can’t see it.
