Field Notes

Description:

As we approached the Tsavo West entrance gate, our driver Washinton slowed the van down so we could check out a family of baboons that were standing in and near the road. As my wife prepared to take a picture of a cute baby and it's mother, this larger male stepped around to her side as if to protect them. Mom and baby went unphotographed.

Notes:

My wife took this photo on the Mombasa road near the entrance to the Tsavo West game reserve.
