Field Notes

Description:

Brown small and slim snake with a long pointy tail. Its head was flat with a blunt nose. Big wide scales on its head. I could not see it's belly. About 1 meter long I would guess.

Habitat:

In between wall plants on a wall. On a walk onto the mountains near the Zoo in Port of Spain, Trinidad.

Notes:

I just saw something move from the corner of my eye. When I looked I noticed this beauty. It was completely unfazed by me, and I could come quite close. It was not at all aggressive. It just slowly pulled itself more in between the leaves until it disappeared. LOVELY.

Species ID Suggestions

Hi AshleyT Finally got around to accepting your suggestion :-)
Thank you AshleyT. That is starting to look like it! Anyone else sure about this one. When I look on line the ones I see are a bit more patterned then the one I spotted. It was really bland looking.
My best guess is Boddaert's tropical racer, Mastigodryas boddaerti. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mastigodryas_boddaerti
Thanks Jellis. Anyone else maybe?
Don't think it is a Oxybelis aeneus as the nose doesn't seem to be long enough. Not sure what that is.
