Field Notes

Description:

This cute little fluff ball has a white chin, throat and body. It has a gray head which extends down its back and wings. The beak is black and the legs are black as well. I think also the eye is black.

Habitat:

In bushland on the edge of wetlands.

Notes:

It was a single bird (I didn't notice any other bird companions) and didn't mind me getting quite close to photograph it.

Thank you Mark for the identification!

Awesome...Thanks Mark! They are known here in the Kimberley - a subspecies to yours.
Looks about right to me. Are they known in around Derby? Here's one I found last year in NSW http://www.projectnoah.org/spottings/37237067
Can anyone tell me if this is a Jacky Winter???
