Field Notes

Description:

This adolescent croc (a guess based on it's moderate size) was using a very efficient hunting method. Having positioned itself in a swift stream so that it was mostly concealed by the rushing water, it lay waiting for fish to swim straight into it's mouth.

Habitat:

Mzima spring supplies fresh water to the coast, via a pipeline system. Close to it's source, it provides a home for hippos, crocodile, two kinds of fish, and an assortment of other wildlife that lives in the lush foliage the spring provides.
