Field Notes

Description:

Neon orange polypore that felt like suede. Stem was absent. Flesh was tough and orange in color. The pores were bright orange with 2-4 round/angular pores per mm. The largest fruiting body was about 5 cm long.

Habitat:

Growing on a felled tree (hardwood) in a deciduous forest.
