IUCN Conservation Status: Near Threatened
jamerbean, I consider myself lucky: this is the first one I've seen this year. Neighbors have had them on their feeders. I have a friend in Oviedo that has a 'bird cam' on his feeder and has gotten wonderful shots of this "fine-looking southern Gentleman".
I'm very jealous! I've always wanted to see a painted bunting.
