Description:

A bright juvenile green iguana spotted at Corcovado National Park, Costa Rica.

Habitat:

Costal rainforest

Notes:

Spotted along the beach near la Leona station. Bright green, smallish (body about 15 cm), long striped tail, distinctive scales on cheeks and neck.

Wow.. You know after getting onto project Noah and seeing all the spectacular pictures has made me miss tropical field research. So much so that I'm actually considering applying for positions in the field again! Were you working there?
Totally Elsa, Costa Rica would not disappoint you. Especially Corcovado, the location of this spotting: once called by National Geographic "the most biologically intense place on Earth"!

rivu.ghorai is right it is a Juvenile green Iguana iguana the circular scale,and the dewlap are characteristic of this species
no, i think its a juvenile green iguana... look at the head and circular spots at both sides of throat... young green iguanas sport such bright green color...
