Field Notes

Description:

Purple flowered sweet pea. Non-edible member of the pea family. Blooms in Spring and will self-seed. Fragrant. Prefers partial shade. Can handle a little neglect and don't need much water. Vining. Good for cutting for vases.

Habitat:

Gardens of Europe and The Americas.

Notes:

This specimen is growing in my own yard in San Diego. It is growing from seed that fell from a sweet pea I grew in the same spot last year from seed my mother gave me from her sweet peas.
