Description:

This is one of the three African species of genus Cichladusa, or 'palm-thrushes', 'morning-thrushes' or 'morning warblers'. The Rufous-tailed has a rufous mantle, tail and crown, cream throat and white-greyish below. The eye is red.

Habitat:

Observed in many places in Kinshasa, including banks of river and streams, gardens and parks...
Often found in riverine thickets and woods, this species is locally common in western part of central Africa - DRC, Republic of Congo, Angola, Gabon...

Notes:

The three species of Palm-thrushes are characterised by long and rufous tails and loud and melodious songs. The three species do not overlap in their geographic distributions - all three occurs only in Africa. They are unusual or building mud-nests.
