Description:
Large, cup-shaped ears, thus prey is located primarily through hearing. They eat insects, especially termites and beetle larvae The foxes locate their prey by lowering their heads, keeping their ears close to the ground and listening above and underground. As soon as the insects are detected, they are dup up and snapped into their mouths.
Habitat:
Favors dry open country
Notes:
Not a great picture as it was far off but I was so excited to see one. Definitely a highlight from that trip to the Kalahari.
