Field Notes

Description:

pink heart-shaped flowers on a 6" fragile stem

Habitat:

Pacific coast temperate rain forest, on the edges of the forest

this is the native here. It can do well in gardens and pots, too, but its flowering season is usually restricted to a few weeks in spring. Sometimes you can encourage a later bloom by trimming dead leaves & watering.
