Or, try putting a layer of black plastic over it. The heat from the solarization effect would probably kill most of it.
A 5-10% solution of glyphosate (Roundup) would kill it, roots and all. Glyphosate is very safe and non-toxic.
We've tried burning it, but it came back. We'd really like to avoid herbicides if at all possible.
I had this growing in my flower garden at one point & later decided it was way to invasive, so I just started pulling and grabbing every root I could find. Wonder if since yours is around/under a concrete slab, you could use an herbicide to kill it once & for all?
If anyone has any advice on how to kill it, I'd appreciate hearing from you. It's a noxious and pernicious weed where I live, and I can't get rid of a patch that grows around the concrete slab under one of my water tanks.
