Large fungi growing in a group.

Habitat:

City park

Species ID Suggestions

The shaggy ink cap

Coprinus comatus

Comments (3)

Very, very tasty and aromatic mushroom, eating at a young state when the meat is white.
A cut-away would be useful, showing gills. My first impression was a Coprinus atramentarius or something like it, but with no stem or gills visible it's impossible to say. The way this group is, it almost looks like a weird puffball.
