Field Notes

Description:

Iridescent feathers on head...metallic peacock blue. Turmeric yellow chest feathers and white underbelly. This bird is attractive but it simply will NOT sit still (unlike the drab female)

Habitat:

My garden...so urban residential area.

Notes:

I never seem to see it when the sun is right and the feathers gleam.

Amazing Sukanya! You really should consider adding to 2019 Best Wildlife Mission! And mention its incredible adaptation for nectar feeding!
