Description:
Wings vestigial, flightless, male forceps not strongly curved. Male and female with the forceps teeth in different positions. In the first photo, male? on the left and female? on the right. Adults about 3cm long, - and I think they can get up to 5cm or more, I'll try to double check that before the end of this year.
Habitat:
Lives only in the sand dunes of Isla Yacyretá, Paraguay. They live in little holes in vertical banks of sand, always near vegetation. At night they stick their forceps out of the hole, up into the air, and just sit there in this position, waiting for ( ... )
