Field Notes

Description:

greyish or brown above, with or without blackish dots; lateral fold lighter, edged with black; a blackish oblique spot or band below the eye; upper lip with a blackish margin; limbs dark purplish brown, without cross bands; light brown beneath, the throat sometimes dark brown.

Habitat:

forest floor and lower vegetation in the Western Ghats in south-western India.

Notes:

I spotted this on a night hike in Periyar Tiger reserve.

yes sir only on the closer examination of this pic.i found that the marbled brown patches are absent in this frog's leg which is present in fungoid frog.
