Description:

16cm small honeyeater with long curved bill. The male has black head and the female has greyer head. Tan coloured underneath.

Habitat:

Forest and woodlands, Eastern coastal Australia

Favourite little bird. We have not had many this season. This is as close as we get to humming birds in Australia. Excellent photo CataAna as these little birds never keep still. They make a sound like a squeaking shopping trolley wheel.
