Field Notes

Description:

The orchards may be gone, but the spider remains. This one built a web across part of my porch this morning.

Habitat:

Along the southern U.S. East Coast

Notes:

I spent half an hour trying to get a picture of her green-and-orange underside, but I couldn;t find a stable angle that didn;t threaten the web.
