Description:

Unlike other bees that collect pollen on their legs - female leafcutter bees collect pollen with the thick long hairs of their abdomen.

Habitat:

Spotted at a ground seep along a gravel road in eastern Washington. Shrub-steppe with pine trees in the valleys.
