I see these all over the Smoky Mountain National Park every year that I go, and I had no idea what they were. Now I know, and what a cool plant! Thanks!
Thanks for the link, Latimeria. I had no idea that the Hearts-A-Burstin had medicinal uses.
Now that is cool. I just did a quick google search, and the USDA Plants database has a lot of information on it, check out the fact sheet at the URL I gave. Apparently the plant has some medicinal uses to it. I'm definitely going to be on the lookout for it this summer.
