All of the above 'official' suggestions are not found in the same area as my spotting. Please take the time to look at the location of a spotting before suggesting an ID.
Thanks for the suggestions but I don't think it's rose chafer Clifford. It's lacking the distinct v shaped scutellum that makes a rose chafer and this was in Brazil whereas Wiki says rose chafer are in the UK.
Yeah wow, it's a beautiful beetle! Not sure if this will help but it might be one of these or at least in the family.

I would say Tansy beetle but I don't think those are found in Brazil. The leaf beetles are found worldwide.
