Carolina, Good for you one carnivore going after for the frog would be good. But if you want to know what it taste like it, taste like chicken in small bites
Haha in spanish is "rana comestible", which I just found out it means "edible frog", I thought edible will be more like that process when a fruit go from acid to sweet. Not just something you can eat. But now is clear. Thank you both! And for the record, I don't think I'm getting a edible frog.
Yes, it is and you are very lucky to have a place like that preserve them from pollution. The frogs health are indication of the health of the area. Frogs are said to be sensitive to changes.
maybe it is because "It is used for food, particularly in France for the delicacy frog legs." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Edible_Frog ...i don't know why it is edible frog in english, in german it is "teichfrosch" (pond frog) ...but as wikipedia says it is "also known as the common water frog or green frog" maybe these are lass confusing.
Carolina, this frog is edible which means that it could be cooked and be eaten, it does not have poison sac unlike some frog that has poisonous mucus. To eat this "edible" frog you have to remove the skin and the head and the bile duct. The bile could be added to a wine and in Asia is considered medicine. Now the frog legs could be added with your vegetable and as my example the bitter mellon and you could buy that at the Asian market.
I was about to ask about the definition of "edible", because I saw people referring it to fruits, and now a frog. I was really confused!
Just love frog legs with bitter mellon high in protein and will increase your iron and no need for you to take pills it's green living.
haha no! ..i should rename it to common water frog or green frog, 'cause i found it in Germany and in Germany we usually do NOT eat frogs ;) they are way to cute :)
I see the species name, but have you tried one? Too cute to eat!
