Field Notes

Description:

Large shelf mushroom (the size of half a tea saucer). This one's been around for a while and the older mushrooms have a feathered appearance to them and greenish tint to the previously white banding. The younger growth is much rounder and whiter. Neither have prominent gills or pores that I can tell. Attachment to tree is on a very thin stem.

Habitat:

west central ga

Notes:

might be a Trametes sp, but not turkey tail for sure.

Pretty sure these are old Stereum lobatum. Not Trametes (a polypore). There are no pores on the fertile surface here.
