Field Notes

Description:

It was a cold spring day in the beginning of breeding season for this wood frog. I thought the mud-colored frog was a rock! He was still, silent and half submerged in the water. His length was around 3”.

Habitat:

Spotted in a shallow pool of freshwater at Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge.
