Description:

These are golden-brown sori (collection of sporangia/fruiting bodies) on the underside of a fern frond.

Habitat:

Grows in the cracks of a shale wall across from a waterfall, a high humidity area at Watkins Glen State Park.

Notes:

The presence and morphology of the sori helps to identify or confirm the fern species.
