Habitat:

Piney woods region

Notes:

About once a year I see a roadrunner, always in the same spot in our woods about a tenth of a mile from the house. This one ran right through the yard and then up to the porch rail.

Thank you for the nomination, and all the kind comments too. I was so happy that it stayed still long enough for me to grab my camera and focus!
Your spotting has been nominated for the Spotting of the Week. The winner will be chosen by the Project Noah Rangers based on a combination of factors including: uniqueness of the shot, status of the organism (for example, rare or endangered), quality of the information provided in the habitat and description sections. There is a subjective element, of course; the spotting with the highest number of Ranger votes is chosen. Congratulations on being nominated!
Especially like the second shot. Welcome to Project Noah and good luck with your mission for the two properties!
I recently got some ducks, so maybe it wanted to check them out? Otherwise I can't think why it would come up to the house!
Must have really wanted to see what you were up to :D Great shots! Thank you for sharing :)
