Dragonflies emerge from the nymph stage full size. It is also too hairy to be a dragon or damsel. It looks more like a robber fly although what kind I really don't know. They have the large eyes and the obviously segmented tail and they are pretty hairy.
no, it's no horsefly - they have solid tails. Not this one, the tail has seperated segments. And look at the eyes they look like typical 360° dragonfly eyes. It was also spotted at a small lake, the typical habitat for dragonflies. though it looks like a very early state of growth
Dragonies have longer bodies and wings. Could be a horsefly...
