Description:

The common red-eared slider pond turtle, T. scripta. This one however is unique for the abundance of red markings running down the middle of its head/neck. More commonly, abnormally colored sliders in the wild are the dark/black melanistic males.

Habitat:

Damned-up pond from a stream running through farmland
