Field Notes

Description:

Bands of white, orange and gray in the characteristic lobe shape. The wings are tinged with white.

Habitat:

Forest with wildflowers. Central plateau in Madagascar.

Notes:

This butterfly flew in on schedule for it's portrait. The first one to be so helpful. I took several pictures before it flew away.

Look in the Morphidae family. I think it is a type of Morpho Butterfly.
