Field Notes

Description:

This looks like a bee, but the eye's are odd shaped.

Habitat:

Wooded area with flowering plants on the Central Plateau.

Notes:

It flew in and landed and I carefully took it's picture. It flew off before I could get closer.

Good eye, Joseph! You're correct to be wary about calling it a bee: it's actually a fly that is a bee-mimic. The eyes are a dead giveaway, as are its sharply-reduced antennae.
