Field Notes

Description:

Monarch caterpillar beginning it's transformation to become a chrysalis. This caterpillar has already attached itself to a silk pad it created before changing.

Habitat:

Found on a milkweed plant in a prairie in Crystal Lake, Illinois at Prairieview Education Center.

Notes:

I will be posting pictures of this caterpillar I'm both the chrysalis stage and butterfly stage before I release it.
