Field Notes

Description:

Small finch, smaller than sparrow, all in grey-brownish colors with red eye-mask and red bill; and whitis cheeks and chin. Juvenile (photo N°2) more dull in color nd sports a black bill. Grows up to about 12cm.

Habitat:

Seen on temporary sandy islands on river Congo, in reed vegetation and tall grasses.
