Troodos Mountain Lizard
Lacerta laevis troodica
34.9675, 32.8286
Field Notes
Notes:
small (around 15 cm maximum length from nose to tail tip but usually 8-12 cm only) and fast lacertidae with a taste mainly for lepidoptera (moths but also flies) and some fallen fruits :) They live all over the island but are most concentrated around the Troodos mountain range. They are diurnal but tend to rest during the hottest hours of the day, hiding in rock or substrate. Good jumpers! Very timid.
