Description:

Native to eastern North America, Sciurus carolinensis has been introduced to places in the western US as well as to locations in Ireland, Britain, Italy, South Africa and Australia. Depicted is one of a few resident individuals that regularly raid bird feeders including this one for hummingbirds.

Habitat:

Spotted drinking hummingbird water on a feeder facing the back terrace of a house in a residential area of Springfield, Missouri.
