Field Notes

Description:

This five pointed red star flower grows in several planting areas here. The ants love them and as you see a small Katydid wishing. The flowers lean on their stems and look like they are shooting stars. The size of the bloom is about 1 inch or 2.5 cm max. Lots of pollen scattered on the petals.

Habitat:

Sunny areas on the Central Plateau. These are located in areas that have been intentionally randomly planted.

Notes:

These flowers are so fun to photograph.
